REGARDING SKIN CANCER:
Dr. Weber has published and lectured at prominent meetings regarding techniques for skin cancer removal as well as on reconstruction following skin cancer or growth removal. He has published and lectured regarding flap minimization techniques.
Dr. Weber is especially well versed in the treatment and reconstruction of skin cancers of the eye and regions around the eye. Dr. Weber has published and lectured nationally and internationally numerous times regarding tumors and reconstruction of the eye region. Dr. Weber developed three novel procedures, which were published in separate issues of the prestigious journal: Ophthalmic Surgery. Dr. Weber is the only dermatologic surgeon to have contributed to this prestigious journal and to have lectured to the most respected American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (Oculoplastic Surgeons).
Dr. Weber trained in Mohs and Dermatologic Surgery at the Ivy League's most prestigious training program at the University of Pennsylvania. While at the University of Pennsylvania, he studied under the world-renowned Oculoplastic Surgeon, Dr. Alan Wulc. At that time, Drs. Weber and Wulc performed what was thought to be the world's first liposuction fat transfer into the eye-socket. Ophthalmic Plastic (Oculoplastic or eye plastic) Surgeons are Ophthalmologists (eye doctors) specially trained in cosmetic and repair surgery of the eye and surrounding tissues.
Dr. Weber is a Dermatologic Surgeon. Dermatologic Surgery has been officially recognized by the ACGME (Accreditation Committee for Graduate Medical Education) as Procedural Dermatology. Dr. Weber has developed new instrumentation for various plastic surgery procedures, which have been approved by the US FDA (Food and Drug Administration). These instruments have been manufactured by such well-known names as Colorado Biomedical, KMI, and Tiemann. Dr. Weber is fortunate to be extremely nearsighted at 20/240, which allows him to stereoscopically stitch the skin for a most precise surgical tissue edge alignment. He also is an artist and sculptor. He believes in using natural skin lines and markings so that patients' results may be longer lasting and minimized in visibility. Dr. Weber has the experience of having performed over ten thousand of skin cancer removals as well as plastic surgery reconstructions on virtually all of the skin cancer removal wounds.
